Psia was built to accompany you in the quietest, most personal moments of your day, so we take your privacy seriously. This page explains, in plain language, what data is collected when you use the app and the getpsia.app website, what it's used for, and how to delete it.

Our guiding principle is simple: we collect only what's needed for the app to work for you, and nothing more.

Account details. When you sign up, we store your email address, your name (if you choose to provide it), and an account identifier, so you can sign in and find your data on any device.

Your personal progress. Your commitments (kabbalot), Tehillim reading progress, personal chapters, daily streak, and the preferences you've set (such as your name and city for daily times). Data is stored on your device and synced to your account, so it's waiting for you wherever you are.

Chat messages. The chat companion is an AI. To generate a reply, messages sent to the companion chat pass through Psia's server and are securely processed by an external language-model provider, Anthropic (the maker of Claude), which receives them only to produce the answer. The app language is sent with each message. From the chat, so are the earlier messages in the conversation and the form of address for answers (masculine or feminine); from a reading screen, so is the name of the passage. The app asks for your consent before the first message is sent, and you can withdraw it at any time in Settings. Your conversation history is kept only on your device: we do not store message content on our servers. We only keep a daily count of messages, used for the daily usage limit.

Subscription data. Your subscription is managed through the app stores (App Store / Google Play). Your payment details stay with the store only. They never reach us. Subscription status is managed with the stores through RevenueCat, which receives only an account identifier and subscription state.

Crash reports. If something goes wrong, a technical report is sent to us (via Sentry) so we can find and fix the problem. It does not include your personal content.

What a post contains. A post in the Inspiration feed includes the story you wrote, your kabbalah (its name, and its number of days if you set one), the category you chose, and whether the kabbalah has come true. Posts are shown only inside the app and only after signing in, with your first name or anonymously, as you choose. An anonymous post never shows which account wrote it. Many of the posts in the feed are written by the Psia team, and they are marked as such.

Checked before it appears. Every post you publish is checked before it appears in the feed. First it goes through automatic checks against fixed rules (for example, that it has no phone number or link). A post that passes them is also checked by an AI model from Anthropic, which receives only the story, the kabbalah's name and the category, without the name shown on the post or any account details, and only for this check. The app asks for your consent before the first story is sent for this check, and you can withdraw it at any time in Settings. After that, a person on the Psia team reads the post, and it appears in the feed only once approved.

Translation. So that people who use the app in its other language can read it too, each post is translated automatically (Hebrew to English or English to Hebrew) by the same Anthropic model, which receives only the story and the kabbalah's name for this.

Reporting, blocking and hiding. From a post, you can report it or block the account that posted it. A Psia team post has no account behind it to block, so instead you can hide that post from your feed. A post reported by two different accounts is hidden until we review it. After a block, posts from that account no longer appear in your feed. The account that posted is not notified of a report or a block. Reports, blocks and the posts you hide are saved with your account, and you can undo your blocks and hides in Settings.

Deleting a post. You can delete a post at any time from My posts, and it leaves the feed right away. We keep it hidden in your account so the daily posting limit keeps working, and it is erased completely when you delete your account. We may also remove a post that does not follow the Terms of Use.

To run Psia, we rely on a small number of trusted external service providers, for secure storage and sync, chat message processing and feed post checks, subscription management, and error handling. Each provider receives access only to the information required for its role, and may not use it for any other purpose. The current list: Supabase (data hosting), Vercel (servers), Anthropic (chat, feed checks and translation), RevenueCat (subscriptions), PostHog (analytics, EU), Google Firebase (analytics), Sentry (error reports), Resend (email), Cloudflare (network). Advertising platforms are listed under Analytics & marketing.

Measurement inside the app. Two first-party measurement tools run in the app: PostHog (hosted in the EU) and Google Analytics for Firebase. They record which screens are opened and which actions are taken, never the content of your messages, the stories you write, or your name and phone number. They run by default and you can switch them off at any time in the app's settings ("Share usage data"). PostHog also captures anonymised session recordings to find interface problems; text fields, images and screens holding personal content, including the chat and the story composer, are fully masked.

Measuring our ad campaigns. To reach more people Psia could help, we advertise the app on Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, Google and Apple. To learn which ads work, the app includes the Meta and TikTok measurement SDKs and Google Analytics for Firebase, and we share a limited set of technical information with them: the device's advertising identifier (on iOS only if you allow it in Apple's permission prompt), anonymous identifiers the SDKs generate themselves, your IP address, device type and operating system, and general events such as install, app open, sign-up, login, subscription start (including any introductory period at no charge) and subscription renewal, together with the subscription price and currency. Subscription events are sent to these platforms from our servers through RevenueCat, not from your device. We never share your name, email address, phone number, chosen city, commitments, the chapters you read, chat messages or stories with these platforms. TikTok receives a hashed account identifier that cannot be reversed.

What it is used for. The platforms use this information to attribute an install to the ad that led to it, to measure the results of our campaigns and to improve how our ads are delivered. Meta and TikTok may combine it with information they hold about you from other sources, under their own privacy policies: Meta, TikTok, Google, Apple Ads. Apple Ads tells us only which campaign an install belongs to, with no device identifier.

Your consent and control. Ad measurement runs only if you agreed to it on the consent screen shown at the end of the app's introduction; without your agreement nothing is sent to the advertising platforms. On iOS, after your agreement Apple also shows its own tracking permission prompt; if you reject it, the advertising identifier is not shared. You can change your choice at any time in the app's settings under "Ad measurement", and on iOS also in the device settings under Privacy & Security, then Tracking. On Android you can also reset or delete the advertising ID in the device settings. Turning off "Share usage data" turns off ad measurement too. After you switch it off, no further information is sent to the platforms from the next launch of the app, and we remove the identifiers stored with RevenueCat.

Legal basis. The basis for sharing information with advertising platforms is your explicit consent, in every country, and you can withdraw it at any time as described above. We ask for explicit consent because using a Tehillim and prayer app may indicate a religious belief, which is especially sensitive information under Israel's Protection of Privacy Law and under EU law. We do not use this information to build audiences for targeted advertising and we do not allow the platforms to use it to personalise ads. Under the age of 18 ad measurement does not run at all, and the consent screen is not shown. Your personal content (your commitments, chat messages and spiritual progress) is never used for advertising purposes.

getpsia.app uses Google Tag Manager to load measurement and advertising tools, only according to your choice in the consent banner. Essential cookies: psia-consent (your choice, one year) and psia-geo (approximate country, used to decide whether to show the banner, one day). Measurement (Google Analytics): activity on the site such as pages viewed and clicks on a store link; on by default outside the EU and the UK, and only after consent inside them. Advertising (Google Ads, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Microsoft Advertising): whether you arrived from one of our ads and whether you went on from the site to an app store; active only after you choose "Accept all", in every country. You can change your choice at any time through the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of the site. Links from the site to the app stores carry parameters that mark the install as coming from the site.

Wherever you live, you can ask to access the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy of it, restrict its use, or object to its use for marketing, by writing to support@getpsia.app. We answer within 30 days. Residents of the EU, the UK and Switzerland may also complain to their national data-protection authority. Residents of Israel may access and correct their information under the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, and may contact the Privacy Protection Authority. Residents of California and other US states: sharing technical identifiers with advertising platforms to measure campaigns may count as "sharing" under those laws; turning off "Ad measurement" in the app's settings and choosing anything other than "Accept all" on the website opts you out, and we honour Global Privacy Control signals on the website. We do not sell personal information for money.

We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone. We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or files from your device. We show no ads inside the app, and we do not use your personal content to target ads at you. The only information that reaches advertising platforms is the technical information described under Analytics & marketing.

Data is kept as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly from the app (Settings → Delete account). A full explanation is available on the account deletion page. Deletion is complete and irreversible.

Deleting your account also deletes your subscriber record at RevenueCat and your profile at PostHog. Technical information already sent to the advertising platforms is kept by them under their own policies and cannot be recalled by us; after deletion no further information is sent to them. Measurement data is kept in PostHog and Google Analytics for up to 14 months.

All communication with our servers is encrypted (HTTPS), access to data is restricted to your account through strict authorization mechanisms, and access keys are kept server-side only.

The controller of your personal data is Stavappservices, 24 Haim Weizman Street, Modiin 7178942, Israel, support@getpsia.app. Data is collected to run the app, manage your account and subscription, improve the service and measure our advertising. You are under no legal obligation to provide it; without an email address an account cannot be created, and without consent to ad measurement the app works exactly the same. Data is transferred to the service providers and platforms described in this policy, some of them outside Israel and the EU (mainly in the United States), under agreements that meet the applicable law, including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when new features are added. The current version will always appear on this page, along with the date of the last update.
